Dear friends and supporters of villa\wigman,
dear neighborhood,
extensive renovation work is still underway in the Great Hall, which is why artistic use of the building is currently only possible to a very limited extent. We are therefore all the more pleased that our new event format PARCOURS³ will be launched in spring, which will also make the spaces outside the halls within the historic villa\wigman building ensemble visible and tangible. Performative tours with artistic and installation elements, which are always curated by an artist, take a look at the history, present and future of villa\wigman. PARCOURS³ #1 by Svea Duwe will start in April.
Spring also foreshadows the future greening of the roof in the villa\wigman building ensemble. Based on the historical model of Mary Wigman's time, the planting of the intermediate roof is planned. Read below to find out how you can support us.
We look forward to seeing you again at villa\wigman!

Our new event series PARCOURS3 starts in spring with the first two tours - on April 13 and June 15 at 12 and 3 p.m. respectively - curated by visual artist Svea Duwe: In the golden 1920s, Mary Wigman founded her dance school and gained worldwide attention with her novel form of expressive dance. In 1942, she was forced to give up her school under pressure from the National Socialists. In PARCOURS³ #1, Svea Duwe guides visitors through the villa\wigman along the visible traces of these 22 years. The audience will experience three site-specific performances that use dance, theater and music to connect the past with the present. Participating artists are: Caroline Beach (dance), Sarah Bonitz (drama) and flieder aka Rosa Klee (music).
The tours are limited to 20 guests. Reservations are recommended!

In the course of the necessary roof renovation of the intermediate building in the villa\wigman building ensemble, we would very much like to be able to restore the former historical design from Mary Wigman's time as a planted green roof. We are currently only just short of 800 euros from our donation campaign on betterplace.org to reach the total amount. During the Easter holidays - from April 17 to April 21, 2025 - it's twice as worthwhile, because betterplace doubles every donation! This means that if you donate €50, betterplace will add another €50 on top. We are happy about any support!
With your donation, you support the operation of the villa\wigman and the restoration of the historic monument. The Villa Wigman for Dance Association thanks you! We will be happy to issue you with a donation receipt. Please send us your address to gl@villawigman.de.
