Facade Hall extension

In the course of the first construction phase, it was, next to the roof renovation of the great hall, necessary to renew the ailing facade coat from the 1950s. Time and the continuous moisture led to substantial damage. From a building climate and monument preservation point of view it was necessary to apply a 3 cm thick layer of mineral heat insulation plaster with a protecting final rendering. Te choice of the paint coat was based on historical findings and done in agreement with the Department of Culture and Preservation Order of the state capital Dresden. A special feature is the restoration of the hollow moulding beneath the window parapet, which was done in line with accepted conservation practice, and the shapings on the cornices based on constructional findings.
