PARCOURS³ #1 by Svea Duwe

A performative tour with artistic and installation elements, looking at the history, present and future of villa\wigman.

Mary Wigman founded her dance school in the golden 1920s and attracted worldwide attention with her innovative form of expressive dance. In 1942, she was forced to give up her school under pressure from the National Socialists.

In PARCOURS³, Svea Duwe guides visitors through the villa\wigman along the visible traces of these 22 years. They experience three performances that use dance, theater and music to connect the past with the present. These are each space-related artistic concepts and performative costumes by Svea Duwe, which are realized in collaboration with Caroline Beach (dance), Sarah Bonitz (acting) and flieder aka Rosa Klee (music). They are linked by a delicate common thread: the defiance of art.
