Open Call residence plus
Dear dance professionals, dear colleagues,
We cordially invite you to apply now for residence plus – a new residency program that creates space for artistic research and specifically breaks down barriers. residence plus is a project by Villa Wigman für Tanz e.V. in cooperation with TanzNetzDresden e.V. and brings you to special locations in Saxony for a research scholarship: TanzART Kirschau, TanzRaumGörlitz at the Neisse Centre for the Contemporary Arts, KOMPLEX - OFF Bühne at Taupunkt e.V. Chemnitz, TENZA Dresden, and KulturOrt Heymannbaude – Kulturbaude und Landkunst e.V.
In 2025/2026, a total of six four-week solo residencies will be awarded – as research formats that offer freedom for your artistic work. We are particularly interested in applications from older artists, young artists, artists with disabilities, and artists in care work. Are you a professional dance artist working in the fields of dance, choreography, education, dramaturgy, production, scholarship, or criticism? Then apply now! In addition, you can involve a mentor of your choice in the residency, who will accompany you with an outside perspective or specific expertise.
The application deadline is December 22, 2025, at 1 p.m.
We look forward to receiving your applications!
This project is made possible by funding from the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture, and Tourism—this measure is co-financed by tax revenues based on the budget approved by the Saxon State Parliament—as well as by funding from the Office for Culture and Monument Protection of the State Capital Dresden.

To conclude our PARCOURS series, we invite you to join us this coming Sunday, December 7, at 3 p.m. for the PARCOURS³ Marathon at villa\wigman—a special afternoon where both artistic parcours can be experienced together once again.
On this day, we will present PARCOURS³ #1 by visual artist Svea Duwe and PARCOURS³ #2 by dancer and choreographer Charles A. Washington – intertwined and in a new form. This is a unique opportunity to experience the different artistic perspectives and positions in their entirety – even for people who have already seen one or both PARCOURS in the spring and fall. Following the presentations, we look forward to a public discussion with Svea Duwe and Charles A. Washington, in which both will provide insight into their curatorial work and be available to answer questions.
