Open Calls – Tanzplattform Deutschland 2026
Dear supporters and friends of villa\wigman,
The time is almost here – in July, the first artist-in-residence will move into the nearly completed residence apartment at villa\wigman! Mary Wigman’s former living quarters are being converted into a residence area, making it possible to live and work at villa\wigman on a temporary basis.
The rooms now shine once again in their colorful design – modeled after the original period style from Mary Wigman’s time. Bakelite switches and outlets have been installed, and two original ceiling lights from Wigman’s era, which had been hidden away in the attic, now bring gold and silver tones back to life. Much of this has already been made possible by your donations and support. Thank you very much!
Now we’re moving on to furnishing the silver apartment with its lemon-yellow kitchen and black-tiled bathroom. From potato peelers to mattresses, from spoons to refrigerators—we need everything that belongs in a small household. We would love to share our excitement with you and invite you to help us furnish and bring these spaces to life with a donation!
We have compiled a list of all the items that still need to be purchased at the link below.

Here’s how it works:
You log in with your name, choose which items you’d like to contribute, follow the prompts through the menu—and once the payment is processed, that’s all there is to it: we’ll handle the purchasing and setup. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at any time.
We appreciate every contribution!
And here’s a date to mark on your calendar: On Open Monument Day, September 13, 2026, there will once again be guided tours through and around the entire house—and, of course, through the new residential area. We warmly invite you to come visit and experience it for yourself!
Warm regards,
Your villa\wigman team
